DDCW 2015 Participation Rules
1. Eligible number of teams per country
Only the top teams from the JUNIOR, U-19, and OPEN divisions from each country may automatically participate in the SPEED and PERFORMANCE events for the DDCW 2015.
*The number of competing teams in each division will determine how many of the top teams can automatically compete in the DDCW 2015, as follows. This will apply to not only the OPEN division, but also the JUNIOR and U-19 divisions as well.
- 1 team – 59 teams: 1 team can automatically compete
- 60 teams – 89 teams: 2 teams can automatically compete
- 90 teams or more: 3 teams can automatically compete
2. Eligible countries
The 9 eligible countries that hold DDC are currently Belgium, France, India, Singapore, Hong Kong, China (Shanghai), South Korea, USA, and Japan.
3. Eligible team restrictions
If the team that wins the DDC in a country is not from that country, they are not automatically eligible to compete in the DDCW. Only teams that live in the country in which the DDC is held are eligible to compete in the DDCW on behalf of their country. The top teams of the country holding the DDC have the right to compete in the DDCW.
Example: DDC JAPAN (scenario: JUNIOR 30 teams, U-19 50 teams, OPEN 100 teams)
*The teams highlighted in RED can complete in the DDCW automatically.

A report of the number of teams and the results for each team that competed in each division of the DDC in every country must be submitted to the DDC Executive Committee (in Japan). (If no report is submitted, then only one team from each age division from that country will be allowed to compete in the DDCW2015.)
4. Number of DDCW teams
15 teams from each of the JUNIOR, U-19, and OPEN divisions (total 45 teams) will compete in the DDCW. Teams from the 9 eligible countries listed above and other teams that placed top in the qualifying competition at the WJR DDC Qualifying Competition will compete in the DDCW.

5. Exceptions for competing teams
If the teams other than the top teams from each country compete and come out top in the July 25 WJR DDC Qualifying Competition, then they may compete in the DDCW on July 26. In this case, their nationality is irrelevant. Therefore, if a team competes in its own country’s DDC and doesn’t win, they may still come to France and compete in the WJR DDC Qualifying Competition. If they place highly, then they may compete in the DDCW.
*If Singapore holds a DDC, then the top 6 teams in the JUNIOR and U-19 division, and top 4 teams in the OPEN division of the WJR DDC Qualifying Competition may compete in the DDCW.
*If any of the 9 countries listed above are unable to hold a DDC by July, then that country’s top team’s right to automatically compete in the DDCW will be waived. However, if such a team competes in the WJR DDC Qualifying Competition, and places highly, then they may compete in the DDCW.
*If a top team from a country is unable to come to France to compete for some reason, that country’s DDC host organization can ask a 2nd place or 3rd place team if they would like to compete instead, as the representative team from their country in the DDCW.
6. SPEED event participation rules
The rules mentioned above about participating rights for DDC teams are the same for that of the SPEED event, but because it is unlikely that many teams will travel all the way to France just to compete in the SPEED event, if a top SPEED team doesn’t participate, then a team competing in the PERFORMANCE event of the DDCW may compete in SPEED instead.
